Operation Appreciation is proud to welcome Sawnee Electric Membership Foundation as a partner in providing support to create care packages for our troops overseas and providing emergency relief funds for the their families stateside.
Each month, the electric bills of participating EMC members are rounded up to the next dollar. For example, if your bill is $65.50, it would be rounded up to $66.00. A bill of $59.99 would be rounded up to $60.00. The funds collected are placed into the Sawnee Foundation and 100% of the funds are donated to charitable organizations through an application process. Sawnee EMC does not keep any of the money collected. On average a member will donate $6.00 a year or $12 a year for members on budget billing.
Sawnee Electric Membership Foundation Mission
The mission of the Sawnee Electric Membership Foundation is to assist in strengthening the communities served by Sawnee EMC. The Foundation will accomplish this mission by providing financial assistance to selected charitable organizations through the Foundation’s Operation Round Up program. This program affords SEMC members the opportunity to “round up” their energy bills to the next highest dollar. These funds, along with monies from other organizations, allow donations to students, schools and various 501 (c)(3) and 501 (c)(4) organizations located within Sawnee EMC’s service territory, which includes parts of Cherokee, Dawson, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Hall and Lumpkin counties
We’re looking forward to working with you to support our troops!
